Mary DeVries

Mary has been a board member since 2006 and serves as the treasurer for ROF-Kingdom Children. She and her husband, Harry, live in rural Ancaster and are members of the Ancaster Christian Reformed Church. She has three grown children as well as three (and counting) grandchildren. Henry Hengeveld

Henry is a retired climatologist who still works part-time with the Meteorological Service of Canada (Environment Canada) in Toronto. He and his wife, Jane, live in Willowdale, Ontario, and are members of the Willowdale Christian Reformed Church. They have four adult children and six grandchildren. Henry joined the ROF-Kingdom Children Board of Directors in July 2005, and currently serves as chair of the Board. He can be reached at HHengeveld@rogers.com

Leon Hordyk

Leon Hordyk is the construction manager at Shademaster Landscaping. He lives in Burlington with his wife Sonya and their four children, where they are members of the Fellowship Canadian Reformed church. He can be reached at leon@shademaster.net

Toni Kampen

Toni is retired from her job at a medical office. She and her husband Martin live in Burlington and are members of Ebenezer Canadian Reformed Church. Corrie Mulder

Corrie is the director of church relations for Back to God Ministries International,, a media ministry of the Christian Reformed Church. She and her husband, Hans, live in Mount Hope, Ontario and are members of the Ancaster Christian Reformed Church. They have three adult sons two of whom are married, and one grandchild.. Geoff Weinstein

Geoff is the founder of Mainstream Communications Inc., a small business that is dedicated to making communications easier for busy people. He lives in Burlington, Ontario and attends Burlington Christian Reformed church with his wife, Leann, and three young children. Jack Gehrels

Jack Gehrels is a retired electronics engineer. He and his wife Lenie live in Tollendale Village, a Christian retirement community in Barrie Ont. He is a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Barrie. Jack was a board member since 1994 and served as chairman from 1998 to 2006. He resigned from the Board in 2007 for health reasons, but continues to serve as an advisor. He can be reached at: gehrels@eol.ca

Anne Koene

Ann works as a public health nurse in Toronto, and lives in Scarborough, Ontario. She is a member of the Willowdale Christian Reformed Church. Together with her late husband, Adrian, she co-founded the ROF in 1991. In recognition of her pioneering work in the history of the ROF-Kingdom Children, she remains an honorary member of its Board of Directors.

Jacob Kramer

Jacob lives in Burlington, Ontario and is a member of the Burlington Christian Reformed Church. He and his wife have four married children and six grandchildren. In 2010, Jacob retired from his role as CRWRC Director of Disaster Response and Rehabilitation and also from his role on the Board of Kingdom Children.

Jocelyn Muraya

Jocelyn is Kingdom Children’s National Coordinator, serving as the link between the partners and Board of Directors in Canada, and the ministry in Kenya.  Jocelyn has a long career of ministry to at-risk youth, and she has a good understanding of the cultural and political challenges facing communities in Kenya. She believes wholeheartedly that she has been called by God to express His care to a hurting and broken world.  Jocelyn, her husband John and son Joseph attend the Baptist church in Nairobi.  John works at the University of Nairobi as a lecturer at the Institute of Development Studies, and Joseph is 11 years old and currently in class 6.

Sara Byma

Sara joined Kingdom Children November of 2007, in the role of part time administration. Sara, Mike and their three young children live in Cambridge Ontario, and attend Maranatha Christian Reformed Church. Sara can be reached at sarabyma@hotmail.com.

In Memoriam

Adrian Koene

Adrian was a co-founder, with his wife, Anne, of the Romanian Orphans Fund in 1991, and was an inspiration and constant promoter of the ROF and subsequently the ROF-Kingdom Children until his sudden death on August 2006. His enthusiasm and zeal for the program will be missed.
